Over the years Don has been known as "the gentle giant" for his decades of dominating the country charts with his unique vocal blend, commanding presence and laid back kind of style. Between 1974 and 1991, Don had at least one major hit every year, including such country classics like "It Must Be Love", "Good Ole Boys Like Me", "Amanda" and "I Believe In You".
Don was the CMA Male Vocalist of the Year in 1978, his "Tulsa Time" was the ACM Record of the Year for 1979 and in 2010, Don received country music's highest honor, with his induction into the Country Music Hall of Fame. Riding and crossing the line between country and pop Don brought a sound and sensibility to the country charts that proved to be a hit surprising audiences and even Don himself. It is those personal life experiences and musical qualities that stood strongly across the 1970's, 80's and 90's and serve as a musical style today for many performers such as Eric Clapton (with whom he's traded songs " "Tulsa Time", "Lay Down Sally") to Keith Urban (who is a guest star on his latest release).
We are honored to have such a country legend here in Branson and look forward to Don Williams visit.
