Trail of Lights
Branson’s “Trail of Lights” at the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead is a favorite visitor tradition! Displays that run from touchingly subtle to elaborate and exciting; using themes from traditional to contemporary, and employing brilliant lights, delightful animation, and your favorite holiday music…it’s what keeps visitors returning year and year! Religious, patriotic, humorous, and Victorian themes can be found throughout the two and a half mile annual holiday display. Winding through the historic Shepherd of the Hills Homestead, the place that helped inspire Harold Bell Wright to pen his best-selling novel, the attraction follows a trail that was once used by early settlers of this beautiful area of the Ozark Mountains.
From the comfort of your car, you’ll observe three-dimensional, life-sized characters in various settings along the “Trail of Lights,” including characters in different types of buildings…you can take a peek at the Christmas-time activities taking place inside. In addition to the many animated scenes, you’ll discover magnificent lighted displays bedazzling the drive-through. And the end of the trail isn’t the end of your experience…your admission includes a trip to the top of the 230 foot Inspiration Tower. It’s a sensational view of Branson all aglow with holiday cheer!
Returning visitors will certainly tell you that no Yule time holiday in Branson is complete without a visit to the “Trail of Lights!” There are plenty of special activities and events to help you celebrate the season in Branson; you can stay for weeks and not do everything, so make sure the “Trail of Lights” hits your Christmas wish list!
